যে word বাক্যের verb, Adjective ও Adverb কে modify বা qualify করে, তাকে Adverb বলে। How, How often, where, when ইত্যাদি দিয়ে প্রশ্ন করে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যায় তাই Adverbs।

Kinds of Adverbs (Adverb এর প্রকারভেদ):

• Adverbs of Place: যে কোনো কাজ সম্পাদনের স্থানকে বোঝায়। Where দিয়ে প্রশ্ন করলে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যায় তাই Adverbs of place।
  • Somewhere, here, away, there, top, thither, below, inside, above, far, hence, nowhere, within, in, ahead, out, bottom, up, hither, into, beneath, outside, near, thence, high, everywhere etc. এই শব্দগুলো দ্বারা Adverbs of place বোঝায়।
  • Examples: We are sitting under the tree. Please come here. They live somewhere in barishal.
• Adverbs of Time: কাজ সম্পাদন হওয়ার সময়কে Adverbs of time বলা হয়। এই Adverb কাজটি কখন বা কোন সময়ে হয়েছে তা বর্ণনা করে। When দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যায় তাই Adverbs of time।
  • Recently, then, yearly, early, annually, yesterday, monthly, tonight, today, tomorrow, now, soon, weekly, lately, daily etc. শব্দগুলো দ্বারা Adverbs of time বোঝায়।
  • Examples: I met him yesterday. We shall go tomorrow. I rise early in the morning.
• Adverbs of frequency: এই Adverb দ্বারা ক্রিয়া কতবার সম্পন্ন হয়েছে তা জানা যায়। How often দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যায়, তাই Adverbs of frequency।
  • Normally, seldom, again, often, always, frequently, never, sometimes, occasionally, generally, rarely, usually, never etc. এই শব্দগুলো দ্বারা Adverbs of frequency বোঝায়।
  • Examples: He usually quarrels. They occasionally eat junk food. I never go to the cinema.
• Adverbs of manner: কোনো কাজ কিভাবে/কেমনভাবে হয় বা হচ্ছে যে Adverb দ্বারা বোঝা যায়, তাকে Adverbs of manner বলা হয়। How দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যায়, তাই Adverbs of manner।
  • Loudly, greedily, generously, calmly, easily, harshly, nicely, sadly, neatly, fluently, patiently, beautifully, sympathetically, softly, decently, angrily, happily, rudely etc. এই শব্দগুলো দ্বারা Adverbs of manner বোঝায়।
  • Examples: He opened the door quietly. Riya spoke softly. She ran quickly. Rehan read the letter carefully.
